Signal Integrity is a very important issue, which means the signals transmission quality on the circuit conductor of PCB, and if they can be convey in correct time sequence and voltage response ability. If the signal inside the PCB circuit can reach the receiver in required time sequence, lasted time cycle and voltage range, then the engineer can assure the signal integrity is performed well in the PCB smulation test after recreate PCB card layout file. On the contrary, if the signal fails to response normally, it will reflect the signal integrity issue which can be solved by reverse engineering PCB and get its schematic.

Signal integrity issues include signals reflection, cross-talk, signal delay and time sequence in-correction.

1, Reflection: the signal transmitting on the line, when the featured impedance on the transmitting line can’t match the source terminal impedance or overload impedance, signals will have reflection, and signal wave can emerge over wave, down wave, and oscillactor phenomenon.

Overshoot refers to the first peak value on the signal jump out or bottom value. It is above the power supply source electrical level or reference electrical level which below the extra voltage effect; Undershoot means the next peak value or bottom value when signal bump out. Frequently shook brought by Over-size overshoot can cause damage on the electronic components, undershoot will lower down the noise capacity, vibration ring increase the time length required for signals stability which in consequently affect the systematic frequency.
