Check PCB Board Quality Methods

There are several simple ways through checking the appearance of electronic PCB boards can determine the quality of it, since cloning PCB board needs to strip off the solder resist mask and fully expose the copper circuitry pattern under it, then draw PCB board layout diagram and gerber file from physical electronic circuit board;

Look at the thickness of the ink. For a good quality PCB board, the ink thickness must be relatively thick. According to the IPC standard, the ink needs to reach 20um, we can’t measure this thickness, although it can’t be seen with the naked eye. The ink on the left side of the picture below is easy to distinguish from the actual object.

The other way to judge the quality of a printed circuit board is by looking at the PCB silk screen text. At this point, we mainly look at the clarity and three-dimensionality of the silk screen. Especially for some silk screens with very small fonts, high-quality PCB board silk screens are very clear, even under a magnifying glass, the handwriting burrs are still not visible.

The two boards in the picture below are the effect of silk screen magnification 6 times, we can compare it! Below Figure is clearer and the font has a stronger sense of three-dimensionality.

The font in below Figure is larger, but the oil is obviously not full and clear enough
