There should be a balance for this point, engineers should not only take the thermal dissipation into consideration, but also the Printed circuit board production budget, take an example, one of our clients used to work on a web camera product, and after duplicating Printed circuit board, which has great demanding quantity on the printed circuit board manufacturing, but its Printed circuit board has too much drill hole which has greatly affected its total cost accompany with its increasing demanding quantity, so after discussion with their engineers, the hole diameter has been enlarged correspondingly, and delete the through hole on the copper area, and the four heat dissipation holes on the main microcontrollers have been replaced by several 0.3mm drill hole through which bring down the drill hole cost, and those slots hole which has very strict dimension tolerance and very difficult to control the tolerance, we suggest the customer to change it from 1.0mm X 1.2mm to 1.2mm round hole directly.
